ALCTS SEEKS JOURNAL EDITOR

The Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS), a
division of the American Library Association (ALA), is seeking to appoint
an editor for its journal Library Resrouces & Technical Services (LRTS).

The successful candidate will be appointed by the ALCTS Board of Directors
following the 1996 Midwinter Meeting and serve as editor designate during a
six-month period and serve a five-year term with responsbility for editing
all issues in volumes 41 through 45 of the journal.

LRTS is an official quarterly publication of ALCTS and contains refereed
articles in the fields of cataloging and classification, acquisitions,
collection management, reproduction of library materials, serials,
preservation of library materials, and general technical services.  It also
contains book reviews.

Each application should include a resume and cover letter, a statement
indicating reasons for seeking the editorship and the role of LRTS in the
profession, the names and phone numbers of three references, and at least
two recent writing samples, preferably of items prepared for publication.

Send nominations and applications by February 15, 1996 (note
this date has been extended)  to Beatrice Calvin, Publications Assistant,
ALCTS, 50 E. Huron, Chicago, Il 60611.  Candidates will be interviewed by
the LRTS Editorial Search Committee by telephone following  the ALA
Midwinter Meeting in San Antonio, January 1996.
