I just wanted to let you know that I found the comments from RoweCom
informative and helpful. I think that getting information from and about
vendors is an important aspect of this list.

Cheers to Mike Randall -- Birdie deserves not only our thanks, but a
whopping great medal for keeping this list not only well-moderated but
also prompt and friendly!!

SERIALIST is (I think) supposed to be a forum where ALL the members of
the serials chain can discuss items of interest (or necessity!), not just
a librarians-only information board (sort of like the "Rides/Roommate
Wanted" board at a university?). As such, we should do everything we can
to encourage vendors and publishers to contribute to SERIALST, rather
than consider their input to be "advertising". Personally, I'd like to
see MORE input from them: otherwise, how can we know they listen or are
even aware of our questions, complaints and (too rarely) compliments?
Perhaps we need an occasional reminder that we all need to listen to
each other.
