GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:
This advanced institute will discuss key aspects of the
ever-changing library acquisitions environment and help those involved in
the business of acquisitions update skills and gain new knowledge.
Through speaker presentations, hands-on sessions, and small discussion
groups, attendees will find a number of ways to learn and participate.

AUDIENCE:
The institute is designed for experienced acquisitions and
serials librarians and heads of technical services, but even those new to
acquisitions could profit from attending.  Because of the topics covered,
this institute may also appeal to experienced acquisitions and serials
paraprofessionals, collection development and interlibrary loan
librarians, automated system developers, book and journal vendors,
document delivery service providers, and both traditional and electronic
publishers.
