DUTIES: Provide leadership in planning, set priorities, and coordinate the daily activities of the Serials Dept., Multimedia (Microform) Dept., and Bindery Unit; supervise 3 paraprofessionals and student assistants; maintain records and collection of 6,000+ serial titles; initiate and process orders received from reference librarians for all serial subscriptions; supervise service provided at serials public service counter; continue implementation of automated serials control (NOTIS System); work closely with the reference librarians in collection development and the catalog librarian in maintenance of NOTIS serials records; participate in night/weekend rotation at general reference desk. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Will report directly to the Assistant Director. RANK/SALARY: Assistant Professor; salary minimum $24,000. AVAILABLE: July 1, 1998. THE LIBRARY: Sandel Library has a collection in excess of 1,000,000 volumes, a staff of 13 professionals and 14 paraprofessionals, and is a member of AMIGOS. A new 5-story library facility is currently under construction, to be completed late 1998. The library serves a university community of over 12,000 and also serves as a resource to the Monroe-West Monroe metropolitan area with a population of 150,000. THE UNIVERSITY: Northeast Louisiana University is situated on a 227-acre campus along the banks of Bayou DeSiard in Monroe, LA, a city on Interstate 20 midway beteween Shreveport, LA and Vicksburg, MS.
