Lost in D.C.? Full of questions?

We can help you at the:

ALA NEW MEMBERS ROUND TABLE ANNUAL ORIENTATION PROGRAM:
NETWORKING FOR SUCCESS IN THE NEXT MILLENIUM

Saturday, June 27, 1998
11:00-1:00
Capital Hilton - Presidential Ballroom

Conference attendees are all warmly invited to attend NMRT's annual
Orientation Program. We are honored to have Dr. Camila Alire, Dean of
Libraries, Colorado State University, as our guest speaker. She will address
"Networking for Success in the Next Millenium." NMRT President-Elect Linda
Marie Golian will describe the New Members Round Table, its mission and the
opportunities it provides for member involvement. ALA President-Elect Ann
Symons and ALA Executive Director William Gordon will also be on hand to
welcome people who are new to ALA, NMRT and the profession.

Karen Cook (Public Library Product Manager, SIRSI Corporation), will tell us
how to make the most of conference exhibits; Tarshel Beards (Editor/Product
Manager in African American Studies, Chadwyck-Healey), will introduce us to
Washington D.C., our host city, and provide advice about places to go and
things to do and see; Courtney Deines-Jones (Deputy Director, National
Rehabilitation Information Center), will show us how to decipher the
conference program.

Informational materials regarding ALA, its divisions and round tables as
well as information about things to do and see while you're in D.C. will be
available for you to take with you in tote bags donated by EBSCO. We will
also have drawings for door prizes including meals and treats from local
establishments. Most importantly, this session provides both time and a
friendly space for informal discussions and for getting answers to all those
nagging little questions that you've always wanted to ask about ALA, the
annual conference, and NMRT.
