The University of Tennessee at Martin is seeking a Head of Technical
Services who will be responsible for acquisitions, serials control,
materials budget control, and cataloging.  Supervises two librarians and
four support staff.   Provides leadership in planning, implementing and
evaluating departmental staff and operations, and in the efficient
application of technology to departmental activities.  Coordinates the
continuing implementation of the Innovative Interfaces Systems for
technical services functions.  Directs and monitors the expenditure of
the materials budget.

Qualifications: ALA accredited M.L.S.; experience in acquisitions,
budget management, knowledge of automated library operations with
emphasis on AACR2, LCSH and LC classification, MARC formats and OCLC;
knowledge of Internet resources; experience with an integrated library
system, Innovative Interfaces preferred.  Excellent supervisory,
interpersonal, communication skills required.  Preferred: two-three
years in technical services supervision.
