Subject: correcting labels on bound periodicals

Folks,

I'm wondering what creative solutions that you all have come up with
in correcting title changes on bound periodicals where the title has
changed and it has been caught at a later date. Our administration,
I believe, frowns on sending things back to the bindery. Also our
binding budget is very small.

At Mississippi State, the last several years, we have had a student
work with a template in WordPerfect, print them out, and adhere them
to the bound journal with booktape. It does the job, but it doesn't
look so great. Lately, we've been experimenting with a labeling
machine. It's a great deal of effort for a student to line up
correctly, doesn't adhere so well, and for long changes doesn't look
so great either.

I thank you in advance for your comments and please do send a copy to
me directly at: rbeach@library.msstate.edu
