Collection Development  Librarian

Excellent opportunity for experienced Collection Management Services
Librarian to establish protocols for the selection and management of
electronic resources, approval plans, shelf-ready plans, firm order
materials, weeding projects, and gifts. Additional responsibilities include
monitoring and gathering collection data, providing instruction to
students, serving as liaison to academic departments for collection issues,
and serving as a member of library and university committees.

QUALIFICATIONS. Applicants are required to have an MLS degree from an
ALA-accredited program or international equivalent, and 2-3 years of
professional experience, with a demonstrated knowledge of technical
services in the areas of collection development, acquisitions, serials, or
cataloging. Other requirements include an understanding of issues related
to the selection of electronic resources, facility with statistical and
database management systems for collections analysis, and ability to work
in a collaborative, team environment. Highly desirable qualities include
supervisory experience, interest in and experience with classroom teaching,
familiarity with OCLC, MARC, Endeavor=s Voyager system, and/or NOTIS.

SALARY AND APPLICATION INFORMATION. Appointment will be made at the faculty
rank of Library Assistant Professor, non-tenure track. (This is not an
entry-level position.) Minimum salary is $31,000 and will be set according
to qualifications and experience. Liberal benefits package includes
TIAA/CREF or alternate plan, 22 days annual leave, and a managed health
