Serial Holdings in Access Database... Buddy Pennington 15 Dec 1999 16:14 UTC

Hi all,

I know that a new big thing in libraries is to put serial holdings (print
and/or electronic in FT databases) in an access database and then put that
up on the web so users can search it. This sounds like an excellent
alternative to putting the records into the OPAC. We have decided to try
this at our library but I am running into some challenges. Creating the
database and putting it on a server is not that hard, but how does one go
about creating the search engine? I can create one that searches by title
name, but I would also like to create exact title and title keyword
searching. Our computer support people do not support this stuff so I am
on my own. If you have any experience with this, your assistance would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
