OK the Elves now make even more sense to me.  I already have the
Lepracauns living alongside humans but the humans haven't yet figured
it all out yet. "Just some amazingly short people living on some
worlds."  Little do they know and the Lepracauns have take up fairly
humble roles within human space.

I'm going to have to think about the other races.

Decendants of the early Earth colonists haven't even figured out the
relationship between the Kingdom of Kemet and ancient history on earth
yet either.  Kemet had a high point in their history technology wise
and lost most of their tech and have only recently rediscovered FTL
travel.
