This is one of these things you need to look at two widely separated charts to
understand what is going on.

Start on chart 10B (Book 3, p. 232) The "Star" column gives a range of stars.
You have to know that a G7 star is in the range of G2 - K0, which gives the
bands RGB.

Now go back to the Overview of Colors chart (Book 1, p. 191), and note that the
Bands R= Red, G = Green, and B = Blue. Vision covers three adjacent bands of
colors. This is described, but not explained on the previous page (p.190) noting
that a vision constant will have three bands of colors as primary.

The are two parts to giving a creature a "better" sense of smell. The first
would be to increase the constant. Each sense has "constant" which serves as the
target number to succeed as sensing things. The number of dice to roll for this
is determined by the range to the source of the sense.

For example, the human constant for the sense of smell is 10. The K'kree the
constant is a 24, and are considered the generally best with their nose. So if
the Gvoudzon have a better sense of smell than humans, set their smell constant
to something between 10 (about human normal) to 20 (much better).

Most of the scent description is about the gradations of scents. A smell is
rarely just one thing, but consists of different parts some more subtle than
others. The Sharpness defines how many of these subtler parts you can distinguish.

Keep in mind that in actual play you will rarely if ever need to know this
information. Having players make sense rolls is a good way to aggravate them or
derail a plot.
