Guten Abend,

from what I know (and please correct me if I am wrong), the Aslans and
their gender can be boiled down to this:

1) For every male Aslan are three female Aslan born. Their definition of
gender roles is rather strict.

2) Men are warriors and leaders, their main goal - if not only resaon -
for life is to own land. If they can not own land, they at least become
vassels of a landowner and administrate his land.

3) Women do the other work, from finances to reparing of technology.
Fact is, the Aslan women keep their society alive.

4) Landless young Aslan - Ihatei - are forced to somehow "aquire" land,
which often leads to pirate raids and landgrabs. If they are succesfull,
the Ihatei are now succesfull landowners and enlarge the power of their
clan.

5) The Aslans neighbors (mainly the Solomani and the Imperium) are
therefore under constant thread of Ihatei raids.

So, what if one of the neighbors decides to go to straight to the core
of the problem?
Imagine a genetic constructed bioweapon that, after it infects an Aslan,
rewrites the hosts genetic code so that from now on he (or she) will
produce as much male babies as females. As the Virus spreads through the
Aslan Hierate, the sex ratio turns to 1:1.

Within one generation, you have a lot of frustated Ihatei who can never
own land - and not enough woman to keep the Hierate alive.

What happens now?

And what happens when the Aslan discover that this is an attack?
