A book scanner, for this purpose, looks like a "V" shaped structure that
you put the open book on.  It doesn't stress the binding and scans two
pages at once.  The OCR first determines the letter it is "seeing", then
if you want it can spell check.  Given how books and dialog are written,
they're two different things.

The other option is to simply scan an image of the page as a graphic
with no OCR enabled.
