In the 'Rebellion' timeline there was an aslan spinter politi (The Glorious Empire) of about 1/2 a sector that was spinward of the The Marches & rimward of the ZConsulate.  The mainstream aslan felt it was so offensive that it was not only invaded but the capital world was nuked  into oblivion. "1000 years of humiliation was finally erased..."

That might be a good place to explore variant aslan cultures..
