Serendipitously enough, I just recently received a circular from a
company called Hans Kuperus Periodicals, which bills itself as an
"industry leading distributor of educational journals, magazines and
periodical back issues" including a "large inventory on consumer
journals and magazines."
Their phone number is 1-800-888-3613; email was kuperusper@aol.com.

A colleague would like to purchase issues of Time and Newsweek from
1975.
Are there any sources that you could recommend for this type of
transaction, apart from Ebay or the equivalent?

have them, but worth a try.

Jim,

A good source for back issues is:

      Alfred Jaeger, Inc.
      66 Austin Blvd.
      P.O. Box 9009
      Commack NY 11725-9009

      Phone: (516) 543-1500
      FAX: (516) 543-1537

      Web: www.ajaeger.com
      Email: jaeger@ajaeger.com

If they don't have the issues you need, they might be able to recommend
another source. There are several others. Good luck.

Jim,

One of the resources mentioned on the Back Issues & Exchange Services web
page may be of use? See http://www.uvm.edu/~bmaclenn/backexch.html
"...a list of back issues and exchange services that have been mentioned
on SERIALST, or through other networked sources, as being freely-offered
through the Internet. This listing has evolved to give those who are
interested several options for pursuing the discussion and/or trade of
serials."
