        Have you contacted NFAIS <http://www.nfais.org>.

They collected production statistics for many
years, showing doublings of records rangin from
every 10 to 20 years or so.

They might be helpful about prices.

        Best wishes,

Morgan Stanley published a report in September, which is available
on the Web in PDF and HTML. The URL for the PDF is
www.econ.ucsb.edu/~tedb/Journals/morganstanley.pdf

If you can't open a PDF file, do a Google search on
"Scientific Publishing: Knowledge is Power"
and you can bring it up as HTML.

It has a lot of the information you are looking for plus it is an
interesting, non-librarian view of the STM journal industry.
