LIBRARIAN (RESEARCH SPECIALIST)
Congressional Research Service, Washington DC

The Congressional Research Service (CRS) seeks to fill three Librarian
(Research Specialist) positions in the CRS Knowledge Services Group (KSG).
KSG Research Specialists provide reference and research services to CRS
policy analysts and congressional clients. Duties include searching
pertinent online resources; reviewing publications, electronic resources,
and trends in a variety of areas; developing knowledge of collections for
use in performing research tasks; and assisting in the creation and
maintenance of databases, Web pages, shared folders and other information
systems to meet the demands for reference and information research support.

1. LIBRARIAN (RESEARCH SPECIALIST), DOMESTIC SOCIAL POLICY CONSULTING
SECTION (VA#060150): The incumbent supports the work of Congress in issue
areas such as elementary, secondary, and higher education; school choice and
vouchers; Federal student aid; employment and unemployment; wages and
working conditions; pensions and family leave; and labor-management
relations. Candidates possessing an MLS or equivalent degree and background
in education and/or workforce issues are strongly encouraged to apply.

2. LIBRARIAN (RESEARCH SPECIALIST), FOREIGN AFFAIRS, DEFENSE, AND TRADE
CONSULTING SECTION (VA#060151): The incumbent supports the work of Congress
in issue areas such as international trade and economics, comparative
international statistics, free trade agreements, foreign trade barriers,
and/or multilateral development banks. Candidates possessing an MLS or
equivalent degree and background in international trade and economics are
strongly encouraged to apply.

3. LIBRARIAN (RESEARCH SPECIALIST), GOVERNMENT AND FINANCE CONSULTING
SECTION (VA#060152): The incumbent supports the work of Congress in issue
areas such as federal tax policy; banking and insurance policy; federal
fiscal and monetary policy; small and minority business assistance and
federal economic development policy; financial system oversight and
regulation; U.S. income and wealth distribution; and public sector
budgeting. Candidates possessing an MLS or equivalent degree and background
in economics or finance are strongly encouraged to apply.

Positions are being offered at the GS-9 level ($44,856 - $58,318); promotion
potential is to the GS-13 level ($77,353 - $100,554). Interested applicants
