HEAD OF BIBLIOGRAPHIC AND DIGITAL SERVICES
(SENIOR ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN/ASSOCIATE LIBRARIAN)

Milne Library at SUNY College at Oneonta seeks a dynamic and experienced
leader to manage Bibliographic and Digital Services. An exciting
opportunity for an individual to use his or her unique talents to
re-envision and shape an evolving technical services department. This is
a 12-month, tenure-track position with a competitive benefits package
and salary commensurate with qualifications. Responsibilities:  Provides
vision and leadership that reflects current needs and anticipates future
trends in the evolving library and information environment. Participates
in expansion and maintenance of online resources and digital
initiatives. Leads a department of three librarians, one professional,
and six clericals to provide oversight for print and digital
collections, including cataloging, serials, collection development,
acquisitions, preservation, electronic resources, and library systems
for all collections.  Facilitates group decision-making and planning.
Reports to the Associate Provost for Library & Information Services.
Qualifications Required:  Master's degree from an ALA-accredited
program; strong supervisory and management skills; professional
experience in technical services; demonstrated communication skills.
Preferred:  Evidence of successful, progressively responsible managerial
experience in an academic library; demonstrated experience working with
and implementing electronic information resources, technologies, and
services; ability to work with faculty and library colleagues;
experience with library budgets, acquisitions, and cataloging.
Demonstrated understanding of current issues and trends facing academic
libraries, including the rapid changes in providing access to digital
and physical materials to a wide range of constituents. To Apply:  Send
