We've done some rule of sum calculations to estimate the space taken
up by serials collections. Our investigations reveal that on average
9 volumes fit per 900mm shelf.  To calculate space and growth you
need to work out how many volumes you have, how many volumes you add
per year, and how many years' growth you want to allow for.
