Subject: Backserv service

Hi,

I am new to the list and have some questions about Backserv. I am wondering
about the advantages of using this service. I had my students search for the
missing issues as posted between December and January today. She found three
issues out of 25 titles that we need and spend about two hours on this
project. My questions are:

1) Is there a better way to search for the issues we want in Backserv?
2) Would it be better to search in the archives, hoping that some libraries
still keep them even though it might past the date line?
3) If there is a word "and" in the title, how can I effectively search the
database, so that the system will recognize "and" as part of the title?

Thank you for your help.
