The Sunfish is intended as a general purpose utility craft that works
near a parent ship or station.  It's sensors are minimalistic, and in
general use it depends on a data link to the parent for seeing
anything farther than what it's about to run into.
It can carry a half ton of cargo and a passenger from one ship to another.
It can grab a larger object with it's waldos and move it.
It can do a weld job on a ship's hull, or be used by a belter to chop
off chunks from a rock.
While it has a 72 hour fuel supply, it doesn't have a bunk. Some
belters hang a hammock in the cargo area... but this isn't
particularly comfortable. "Not particularly comfortable" also
describes the fresher.
It can be used for short interplanetary trips - but the comfort level
really is only better than the early Solomani "Apollo Missions"
because it does have a fresher rather than plastic baggies.
The 72 hour fuel supply is annoying because you have to remember to top it off.

On the other hand....
... It's a hell of a lot more comfortable than working the belt in a vac suit.
.... It's small and with the arms it can latch on to most ships
... it's small enough to fit in most ships easily
... It's streamlined and can make a quick run planet side rather than
waiting for the High Port shuttle
.. it's cheap.  About 3x the price of an enclosed air/raft
...The ability to go sub-orbital and make long planetary trips quickly.
