Player Openings for an Ongoing Play By Post Game Eris Reddoch 03 Mar 2021 20:16 UTC
Hi, I'm running a Traveller game on The Unseen Servant Forums that could use one or two new players. If you're even vaguely interested read on... Here is the link to the game: https://ruinsofmurkhill.proboards.com/board/127/traveller-exploring-mantan Here is the appeal I posted on the Forum where the game is taking place: ---------- March 1, 2021 Appeal: If anyone wants to join the game, drop me a private message and I'll get you into the game ASAP. We are down to 5 active PC's and could certainly take on one or two more players in this game. Joining isn't really time-sensitive, but getting in on the current action is. The current scenario is likely to play out in the next few weeks (PBP games a really slow) and joining later would bring you into a different situation...just saying. ----- Synopsis: The PC's are the crew of The Clear Sails, a 400 dton Armed Merchant currently chartered to transport a team of Delgado Trading personnel to a number of systems in the, mostly, unexplored Mantan Subsector. Once they get the Delgado charter to their destination the ship will be free to continue to Explore Mantan, or anything else they'd like to do. This is a homebrewed Subsector using (mostly) CT rules. The Imperium may exist, but is very, very, far away if it does. Aslans and Vargr are vitually unknown here and no one has ever heard of the Zhodani, Earth, or most any other Trope introduced after the 3 Little Black Books. Current Situation: The ship's owner-aboard is retiring and leaving with the head of the Delgado Trading group. He is giving the ship to the crew (ship shares all around!), but they still have to complete their mission of carrying the remaining Delgado Factors to the Mantan systems. The current ship Captain is also leaving, so her position will go to one of the remaining PC's. At the moment, all the PC's have left the star port for a little R&R, and small package trade delivery (wink, wink), and then trouble rears it ugly head...naturally! The Problem: A Vargr was found in The Clear Sails cargo hole...trying to stowaway. He had just escaped from another ship in port where he was being held as a prisoner. The PC's think the other ship are slavers from the way they demanded their "property" back. IAC, the Vargr was passed out from loss of blood, gunshot wounds, and the Clear Sails crew that remained behind refused to turn him over. The Complication: All the PC's, most of the crew, is off the star port attempting to have a little R&R and things back on The Clear Sails are getting hot! Really hot! They have no idea just how hot!!! The pirates are holding the Captain and the Chief Factor of the charter party out on the tarmac threatening to shoot them. The local Starport security are not doing anything. The PC's are rushing back, but they might not make it in time. Will the PC's still have a ship by the time they get back to the star port? Will they have to take it back from a band of slavers, pirates? Even if they do get it back, just how damaged will their ship be? Will it be a steaming pile of debris? Well, there's always that rumor about a wreaked ship waiting to be salvaged in the outback...but let's hope that's another game! ------ Rules: I'm using a mixture of Classic Traveller, Cepheus Engine+2D6 Retro Rules, and bits and pieces from most other editions of Traveller to run the game. You can use any of the Traveller Character Creation Systems to create a PC (but I prefer CT, Mongoose Trav v1/v2, or Cepheus Engine), or just tell me what sort of character you want to play and I'll make one up for you. I prefer you create human characters, however, there is a Vargr NPC that is just crying to become a PC if anyone is interested in taking him over. ---------- The game, like all PBP/PBEM games goes slowly. Expect two or three posts a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. It's a good way from those that don't have a lot of time, or a local group, but still enjoy playing. New PC's would be "stranded" on the planet SiraLea and looking for a ship. If you join now, you'd see what's going on out on the tarmac and find yourself trying to "save the day!" fighting "the slavers/pirates", and thus earning yourself a job aboard Clear Sails.
