Another idea is the _March Harrier_ getting repossessed (legitimately or
otherwise - such as by Dodgie Brothers Financial Services, or, far
worse, Imperial Navy Credit).

Round three might be their insurance getting cancelled and the port
subsequently denying lift clearance (locking the berth, guards, etc)
until that's sorted out (and the PCs figure out who they pissed off this
time).

Some of that could happen in an Imperial client state, and (due to
whoever the PCs brassed off) the good news beats them back to the 3I.
