PING: Andrea Vallance - Luriani Mmarislusant vs. Vilani Question Jeff Zeitlin 12 Dec 2017 01:25 UTC
It's generally accepted - either in canon, or from discussion here in the past - that Vilani tradition has the _third_ child inheriting title and fief, with the first becoming a shugili and the second going into the military. You didn't discuss that, as I recall, in Minor Alien Module 1: Luriani, but the implication, from that module and from the Funny Fish stories, is that the Mmarislusant maintain Vilani culture and traditions within the Luriani cultural context. Question - and this is for some commentary on an article that I'm working on about inheritance and familial power patterns: Do the Mmarislusant maintain the Vilani traditions to that extent, or have they assimilated to the Luriani and follow Luriani expectations regarding heritage of title, fief, and familial archony? ®Traveller is a registered trademark of Far Future Enterprises, 1977-2017.
