The original release of the Mongoose Traveller SRD explicitly added an exclusion to the OGL; you could not use it for software. I don't know if that exclusion carried over to Cepheus Engine, which was based on the Mongoose Traveller SRD. You do need to be aware that while the OGL apparently does not _inherently_ exclude software, it does constrain you somewhat; see https://quora.com/Is-it-permitted-to-use-the-Open-Game-License-OGL-for-a-material-that-isnt-printed-such-as-a-computer-game CAUTIONARY DISCLAIMER: I am not a lawyer; I don't even play one on TV or the internet (though I might play a character with Legal skill in a Traveller game). I do not give legal advice; I merely report my understanding of my findings from bingleduck* searches using phrases that seem relevant to me to the issue at hand. I don't charge for this service, and you should not assume that the reporting is worth any more than you've paid for it, unless you've checked it out yourself and confirmed it from trustworthy and accurate sources. *bingleduck: Any of Bing, Google, or DuckDuckGo, or other publicly-available search engine or metasearch engine. ®Traveller is a registered trademark of Far Future Enterprises, 1977-2020.
