I just started outlining a "first contact" type story written from the
perspective of the natives that are being contacted.   (Matriarchal
society, Stone Age, loosely patterned after Maori peoples) 

Does it make sense cosmologically for a world to be made up of islands
some grouped together and others isolated from the rest?
