I just saw a costing for a Nimitz-class carrier, and they run at about
that too, including the purchase price, refit costs, and disposal costs
(including of the reactor fuel). Of course, they're looking at a 40-50
year or more service life, which spreads the fixed costs a lot. Also,
that didn't include the air wing, and aircraft cost a *lot* to run (on
the other hand they're also very pricey, so it may still work out for them).
